Well happy Wednesday my lovelies. Even though the stores are full of fall fashion (and so is my closet), I am just not ready for it weather wise. I am totally ready for it in every other way besides this scorching weather we are having in Southern California. I suppose because we had a rather mild summer, this should be expected, but there is simply no way we can wear boots or sweaters or anything besides the lightest of clothing. Enter this gorgeous pleione, paperthin blouse from Nordstrom and pencil skirt from Banana Republic. This wine/ burgundy/ox blood/ maroon (Seriously. What are we calling this color anyway?) colored skirt is THE color for fall, and I already have several pieces in my wardrobe in this delightful shade. I paired it with this light blouse and it's perfect. In fact, since I spend most of my day in a freezing cold office, I might even be so lucky as to need to wear a light sweater over this!! As soon as the temperatures drop, I am going to pair the skirt with some dark brown leather stacked heel boots, but for now, I will stick to my nude pumps (which literally match with anything and everything. They might be the very best investment you can make in your wardrobe). Is anyone else into this color? How are you going to wear it? Oh Just Give it a Twirl Tuesday

Hello and happy Tuesday to you!  Poor Tuesday. It's the forgotten day of the week, you ever notice that? We all dread and discuss the horror that is Monday, Wednesday gets the honor to be mid-week, a 🐪 and its own hump hashtag, Thursday is Friday eve (and #tbt), Friday (#fbf)  and the weekend are in a category all their own but Tuesday? #ShoesdayTuesday?  Its just sad  (There is no real point to this rambling, by the way. It just struck me as funny. Lets go on, shall we?) :)

I love a dress than can give good twirl. Not a wussy little fluff when you spin but a real, solid, skirt-outstretched-and-spinning-twirl.  And pockets. Pockets you say? Yes. Yes, pockets are most certainly important too and this Betsey Johnson dress has both. First, its heavy. It feels wooly and substantial. If, by chance, it ever dips below 90 degrees here in CA (and it sure doesn't feel like that is happening anytime soon), this will come in handy. I love it. You feel like a lady in it, and I love anything ladylike and Jackie-O esque.  I paired it with some Banana Republic heels that I have had for a few seasons ( I bought them in camel and black too-- and when I wear either pair I get compliments every time) and it is so cute.  I walked outside after I put this outfit on and I got stopped by a few people, commenting on this dress. Its so nice and its in my favorite colors.  I don't wear too many accessories because I like things really simple but this look could be jazzed up big time.  It is at Nordstrom right now (its not on line though, but here is one that has a similar fit) If you aren't already, follow me on Instagram and Snapchat (golddustandsugarlustl) . Seeing Red? ❤️🇺🇸















Lets just pretend that I have on a beautiful shade of red lipstick, or a red bag or maybe even nice shiny red patent heels and if you can do that, then isnt this just a perfect outfit for the holiday week? Yes, yes it is!! (Whoops. I will get it together next year.)

This blazer is from my recent Zara spree and it is right at home in my closet. I am a very simple, classic dresser. I typically wear black, more black, and then something black. :) Navy blue is a color I also gravitate to and when I saw this blazer I just fell in love! I think I will get so much use out of it. And can you see the gold buttons? I just love it. I took this dress from banana republic out of the closet (it's from last summer) and they just look so cute together. The structured blazer makes the summery type dress a little more appropriate for the office. And like everyone's office, mine is fa fa freezing and there is just no way I would ever wear sleeveless.  And do I ever love nude shoes. The ones I am wearing (Gucci) have the slightest hint of blush to them. If I could find a pair of not ridiculous looking navy blue high heeled loafers, that would be perfect (do these even exist?) but in the meantime, these heels are just fine. Casual in Khaki















Yay for weekend time! Okay, this whole get up (shoes included) is from Banana Republic.  I popped by the mall last weekend and they were having a great sale...so...you know what happened next.  The shorts are great-- not too short and not too wrinkly. The sweater is nice and holds its kind of form fitting shape, which is important with loose-ish shorts. These wedges? They were on sale last weekend for $70, so I bought them in two colors! Why not? I love wedges-- still that sandal feel but they give you a lift when you need it- -and who ever complained about a few more inches of height? (umm, no one!)

You know that I love sunsets...and just being out with my sweet girl on these balmy, beautiful evenings. I love being outside during this time of the day and I love to share it with my daughter.  I want her to see and appreciate the beauty and simplicity of nature and to pick her face up from the IPad every now and again to enjoy it!
