Gold Dust & Sugar Lust

Yay for weekend time! Okay, this whole get up (shoes included) is from Banana Republic. I popped by the mall last weekend and they were having a great sale...so...you know what happened next. The shorts are great-- not too short and not too wrinkly. The sweater is nice and holds its kind of form fitting shape, which is important with loose-ish shorts. These wedges? They were on sale last weekend for $70, so I bought them in two colors! Why not? I love wedges-- still that sandal feel but they give you a lift when you need it- -and who ever complained about a few more inches of height? (umm, no one!)

You know that I love sunsets...and just being out with my sweet girl on these balmy, beautiful evenings. I love being outside during this time of the day and I love to share it with my daughter. I want her to see and appreciate the beauty and simplicity of nature and to pick her face up from the IPad every now and again to enjoy it! I hope you enjoy a beautiful weekend too! Xoxo Michelle

Oh my goodness, what a beautiful dinner I had last Saturday night with a group of friends in Laguna Beach (and sorry for just getting around to telling you about it now but oye what a week!) First of all, the weather was ahhmazing...just like summer (why do I hear every phrase that has the word "summer" in it in Olaf's voice?) Everyone was out and about on the cute little streets and the air was infused with that energy, like "How are we lucky enough to get these temps in March?" It was a low key dinner with a few couples (at a cute place called Lumberyard, for you locals!) and I really wanted to wear this tassel necklace I got from CAbi, which is one of those necklaces that you can wear like 10 different ways (It's a pendant! It's a bracelet! It's a necklace! --except I am that person that can't figure any of it out.) Its that pretty sparkly that you see on the one side and then a gold almost filigree on the other (and you can wear it either way) Since it can be 90 degrees and I'm freezing, I was perfectly comfortable in this sweater with my cute shorts. Before we left our house, I tried on a pair of strappy sandals and then some pointy heels and I don't know- it was too much of something... toe? leg? I don't know but the little booties seemed just right! Let me also say that I have been watching hair tutorials on YouTube (I know! The exciting life I lead) and I decided to try a little beachy wave here... Not as great as the video (completely NOT YouTube's fault) but I really loved how it turned out!
