{Blogged while watching GOP debate #500} It is sad but true. I have retired the form fitting button up trousers and pencil skirts that are currently living in my closet, in favor of elastic, knits and comfortable, not-too-clingy dresses. The heels? They are not going anywhere my friends. We might even be heading into the delivery room together if I have any say so. This girl right here is not a fan of flats! :)
For some reason, I love boxy, menswear inspired trousers. I don't pay too much attention to whether they are considered "in" or not in any particular season because I think that menswear pieces paired with feminine details (think: a gauzy blouse with a bow or ruffled sleeves, delicate jewelry) are always office appropriate. Since we had a winter season here in So Cal that lasted a hot minute, I paired these Banana Republic trousers with a beautiful, soft and cozy sweater by CAbi. It is literally like being wrapped in fluffy cotton-candy, it's that soft. And I adore this bag. I said it once before but Dooney and Bourke has just revolutionized its company and its bags are stylish and so well made and are just steeped in tradition!
I apologize for being such a poor blogger lately! My daughter's (mermaid) birthday party is this Saturday and all of the planning and decor and desserts have been consuming me lately. As is always the case when a quiet few weeks in the office would really be nice (a girl has errands to run!), its been BONKERS and I have been working working working.. .and to top it off, this whole pregnancy thing? Yeah. I will fall asleep at the dang drop of a hat. Literally, if I sit down on the couch at any time during the evening, its lights out! We are almost half way there though- wow! This little guy cannot come soon enough for this family- -to say we are beyond excited is putting it mildly! Happy happy almost weekend dearest reader...Sweetly, Michelle
