Two Days in the Desert

Generally speaking, I Β am not really a desert type of girl. Β I'm not really a rock climber (outside of the gym) or a cactus appreciator (but I do like those pretty succulent arrangements for the backyard!) However, there is just something about Palm Springs that I love. Maybe it's the vastness of the sky surrounded by those mountains that look so close. Maybe it's the palm trees that seem to Β cover every last bit of space. Or it could be the sunset that lights up the whole sky with a pinky glow. I grew up coming to Palm Springs as a little weekend getaway with my family. I have also played quite a lot of tennis here in tournaments when I was younger. Β I love it. This weekend was a quick trip with my parents and extended family to celebrate my Uncle's birthday. There was a lot of golf, a lot of pool time (but not enough time on El Paseo). It was really warm but for some reason heat doesn't bother me. I'm always cold anyway so when the temperatures go up, I'm like a little lizard. I just sit in the sun and soak it up (covered of course in SPF, a hat, sunglasses and usually, a rash guard. Stay away, wrinkles!) Β This is a place that I hope we will frequent many times in the Β future with our little family.

I seriously threw clothes in a bag when I came home from work Friday afternoon and wasn't as mindful as I should've been about the heat and packing. However, this little blue dress lightweight from Nordstrom really served me well at my uncle's birthday dinner. I am still wearing the cute boots I got around Christmas from The Shop in Laguna- they are comfy and so cute. Β And I love wearing boots with sundresses and little skirts. A fringey bag and some jewelry and that was that! Hope your weekend was amazing and as always, thank you thank you for stopping by! Xo Michelle

Two Way Tassel

  1.

ο»ΏOh my goodness, what a beautiful dinner I had last Saturday night with a group of friends in Laguna Beach (and sorry for just getting around to telling you about it now but oye what a week!) First of all, the weather was ahhmazing...just like summer (why do I hear every phrase that has the word "summer" in it in Olaf's voice?)  Everyone was out and about on the cute little streets and the air was infused with that energy, like "How are we lucky enough to get these temps in March?"  It was a low key dinner with a few couples (at a cute place called Lumberyard, for you locals!) and I really wanted to wear this tassel necklace I got from CAbi, which is one of those necklaces that you can wear like 10 different ways (It's a pendant! It's a bracelet! It's a necklace! --except I am that person that can't figure any of it out.) Its that pretty sparkly that you see on the one side and then a gold almost filigree on the other (and you can wear it either way)  Since it can be 90 degrees and I'm freezing, I was perfectly comfortable in this sweater with my cute shorts.  Before we left our house, I tried on a pair of strappy sandals and then some pointy heels and I don't know- it was too much of something... toe?  leg? I don't know but the little booties seemed just right!  Let me also say that I have been watching hair tutorials on YouTube (I know! The exciting life I lead) and I decided to try a little beachy wave here... Not as great as the video (completely NOT YouTube's fault) but I really loved how it turned out!  Hope you all have an amazing weekend and we sure appreciate you stopping by- xoxo Michelle
