Palm Springs Fling 🍊🍸

{Blogged with yogurt covered pretzels} Hello sweet reader! Can't you just see me in this dress, lounging around a pool in Palm Springs, with piles of gold jewelry and maybe  some fruity, slushy, umbrella topped drink! I sure can!!  I adore flowy dresses and gold. It just seems to signal the weekend, beautiful weather and fun. This color too! It is the prettiest bright shade and I just feel happier when I am wearing it. I plan to fill my closet with these happy colors come Spring!  

I am feeling so much better now that I am in my second trimester. I was so crazily nauseous and tired from sun up to sun down all the way until about a week ago.  It's so strange for me because when I was pregnant with my daughter-- I had no side effects at all. I just chugged along and grew nice and big and jolly!!  I am hoping things stay smooth but I would suffer through just about anything for a healthy baby boy!  Happy almost Friday!  Sweetly, Michelle

I have a weird relationship with dresses. I love wearing sheath dresses under a blazer or a cardigan to the office.  I love the little black dress for any sort of evening function. I literally must have 30 of them hanging in my closet. But just a regular standalone dress for daytime in the office? Sometimes I struggle with deciding if I like it.  It has to be just right, right?

I also have been making an effort to put more color into my wardrobe. For a  person who loves black as much as I do, white is a huge wild step in the color direction. And florals are just gorgeous. Don't even get me started on all of the rooms in my house I would wallpaper with floral designs if my husband would let me ( why do I even ask? I should just do it. There's a 50-50 chance he wouldn't even notice!!) But back to the dress. When I saw it hanging in Zara ( my latest obsession) it just spoke to me for some reason. It's structured and sweet and it has pockets and it is ladylike and fits like a glove.  It is so office appropriate in this nice weather and can't you just also see it at a brunch with your grandmother or to wear to church? And the best part of all is it's made out of this sort of stretchy material. If you didn't think it was perfect before, you sure do now, right? From White to Night

Is it just me, or does going someplace directly from work (no matter how wonderful the event is going to be) always feel like a hassle? I have to lug a flat iron and products, some mascara, a costume change (and all of the other miscellaneous bottles and vials that help me get all spruced up) to the office.... and if anything can make this process easier, I am all for it.   Enter this little white suit from Zara.   Zara, Zara, Zara.   You almost never let me down and these separates are no exception.  This jacket is amazing- -structured, heavy and so crisp! I love buttoned up looks. I am not a girl who ever really shows a lot of skin. I would pair this jacket with maybe black, cuffed trousers and a black heel for my daytime look.  I bought the skirt that matches the jacket to take this look straight from the office and while it's inches shorter than anything I would ever actually wear to work, it would be great to throw on with these suede, strappy, tied up shoes and go! Oh my gosh these shoes! They are from Zara too! I am so excited about how much use I will get out of these because of their vibrant colors!  I mean really! What won't they work with? Denim, all black outfits (my specialty)....they will match perfectly! These little heels add so much va va voom that you don't really need much in the way of additional accessories, which makes office changes all the better!  I absolutely love this and I really love a summer white ensemble--you just stand out a bit, don't you agree? I saw this beautiful dress on a fashion blog I follow and I tried like crazy to get it (read: obsessed) and since its a French brand (and the website is written in French and only delivers to people in France-- insert weeping), I was stymied! Enter Shop Bop!! As I was doing my usual browsing and oohing, there the little dress was! You guys, this dress is amazing-- the fit is flowy and perfect. I have on an XS and its roomy.  The only thing I need to do is figure out the old bra sitch... I definitely need to wear one and that big open back means it will be a complicated one. But that's a small price to pay for this beauty! There are tons of colors and 2 lengths. I bought this in the pink color and white, all in this length. I think I might go back for the long one too because they are just that nice. The long one is very caftan-esque and I am a sucker for those guys!
